Like George Lucas should have NEVER made ANY of the Star Wars Prequels and ‘Kurt Cobain is a rock god and it is blasphemous to invoke His likeness for any cause.’ Sally Struthers doesn’t try to invoke His likeness to save indigent African children, Obama doesn’t try to capture the Gen X vote by wearing a “Nevermind” concert shirt… no, they know better. So how in the hell did the creators of Rock Star Avatar think themselves to be exempt from this most excellent/high rule? “Now cracks a noble heart. Modest Mouse returns to their roots with this heavy and slightly morose little ditty. The video, courtesy of Bent Image Lab, features befittingly dark and creative visuals. I mean, they’ve found a way to make evisceration and unfurling entrails look innocuous, one might even say pretty. If that’s not art, I don’t know what is.
